Top 5 best Eckhart Tolle's spiritual quotes

Eckhart Tolle has to be my current favourite spiritual teacher. Everything he says just makes so much sense. I have listened to many of his recordings on YouTube. I have loved every minute of this man’s wise words, he really is a genius or he is just very very present and everything he says comes from the one universal intelligence! It makes me want to be more present, more in the moment.

1, Your suffering becomes the biggest doorway. What you believe to be the worst thing becomes the doorway to unexpected joy.

My example I can offer as an explanation to this one is that when you are suffering emotionally and those thoughts go round and round in your head and then you do a Byron Katie work sheet on those repetitive thoughts, well within 20 minutes you have not only let the thoughts go but you have discovered some truths about you. In that moment you realise that you were blaming someone else for your reaction to them or to a situation. It is then in this moment of revelation that you can genuinely let it go and basque in a sense of freedom and peace.

2, There are two ways of being unhappy.

Not getting what you want and getting what you want.

Well ain’t that the case. This one is the simple fact that nothing in the external world can bring you happiness. Happiness comes from within. So best get meditating and practise being in the present moment.

3, This one is about the difference between feelings that arise from the mind and feelings that arise from a deeper intuitive place.

There is a certainty about it. You just know this is right. You may not be able to explain why to others. It has a different quality to it. When there is a deep realisation about what the right course of action is, there is a peace with it. You feel with absolute certainty that this is right for you. It cannot be explained in words and you would have to go through life experiences to find out for yourself what a deeper place this feeling comes from. Its different from somethings that arises from the condition of your mind.

This one is sooooo profound and comes with experience of listening to your feelings. There are some feelings that you have that have a knowing quality to them. It’s like they are so strong that there is no arguing with them. It’s a deep inner knowing.

4, The world, ultimately is here to awaken you and for most people it does that by making things difficult. If the world left you in your comfort zone for long you might think that might be the best thing to awaken spiritually because I need my life to be………

Gotta love the universal intelligence for this one. It is because of our suffering which forces us to go searching for answers and it is because of this searching that leads us on to the path of enlightenment. If life was easy there would be nothing to go in search of.

5, Your entire life is only ever now and so by appreciating the now, becoming friendly with the now, aligning yourself with the now, your life unfolds differently.  And you appreciate the little things instead of thinking of the big things that would make you happy. If you could only achieve them, including the idea of enlightenment or whatever else it is. Instead appreciate what’s here in the present moment and you may find one day that listening to the leaves of the tree that move by the wind suddenly makes you happy and you may find that looking at the sky suddenly makes you happy. To become aware of your breathing and to feel the aliveness of your body makes you happy.

There is a peace in the present moment. The mind ceases its thinking and being takes precedence over doing. Doing is a mind activity but when being takes precedence then doing takes on a different energy to it. The glimpses I’ve had of being in the present moment after meditation I can explain however until one experiences it is a very difficult concept to grasp. The mind doesn’t understand it until it experiences it. During present moment experiences the incessant thinking ceases and there is a beautiful sense of peacefulness. I am sure there are different levels of presence and my experience is a dipping your toe in the water type of level. I have listened to many of Eckhart’s present moment explanations of extreme joy, peace, calmness and intense happiness when he had his spiritual awakening and during the following two years when he lived on the streets he said he was the happiest he’s ever been. He mentioned that one day someone sat next to him on a bench and said to him I want some of what you have!

9 reasons why everyone should meditate

I started meditating in 2014 when we lived overseas in Asia. I had no excuses anymore not to anymore as I finally had a bit of spare time to practise. I had attempted to meditate the previous year however I just couldn’t get my mind to calm down; it seemed futile to be honest but something in me knew it would be the best thing for me and that crazy mind of mine. Upon reflection I was obviously listening to an inner calling to meditate. I think back now to how crazy my incessant thinking was then. It never stopped ever and it was probably a year or two ago that I decided that caffeine didn’t help my mind or my nerves too, so I gave it up. And that is what meditation does to you, it brings you awareness of what is and isn’t goof for you and you body & mind. Be it people in your life, food that you eat, alcohol that you drink or your unfulfilling job that you spend an awful lot of hours doing.

This blog has been a long time coming. Like everything, now is obviously the right time for me to share the reasons why I meditate regularly and why love teaching meditation too. I could probably add another ten reasons why but lets not over cook the egg huh? So with no further ado lets get straight in to my reasons and explanations.

  1. A calmer you

Who doesn’t want to be more zen in our day to day life? A calmer you that doesn’t get stressed when life gets a bit hairy is better for you and those around you. A regular practice changes the way certain areas of your brain work and how you respond to perceived stressful situations , its been proven scientifically. Not that I need science to tell me that as I know this from pure experience.

“If every 8 year old in the world was taught mediation, we would eliminate

violence from the world in one generation" - Dalai Lama

  2. Developing your intuition

With meditation you develop the skill of listening to your inner guidance. This has become a lost art due to the our current civilizations obsession with the mind, academics, study, schooling and achieving. We aren’t taught to listen to our own inner guidance system and we are actively taught to listen to those that know better because they are better educated (so they must know better, right?) Well wrong, when you listen to your intuition you are tapping into something that has way more depth than the mind and that something is the universal intelligence.

  3. The mind is not who we are

This is simple to answer, meditation takes you beyond the mind and going beyond the mind is the key to happiness. The mind likes to find problems, it likes to moan and be negative that’s just how the mind operates. It’s not rocket science, Buddhism teaches us that we are so much more than our mind. If we live our life from this deeper place we will live a much richer, fuller life that knows not to believe some of the nonsense in our mind.

  4. It can lead you on a path of…………

It’s up to you where you go with your meditation practice but ultimately it can take you on a path of self-realisation and enlightenment. Not always an easy path to choose however when magic happens in your life or unexpected opportunities arise you are way more open to accepting these gifts .

  5. Your perspective on situations changes

My way of describing this is that you become less dogmatic and ridged with your points of view. Less tunnel visioned and more open to other peoples perspective on subjects. It’s incredibly refreshing is what it is, not only for you but to all those that you are surrounded by. You see when you were in your more dogmatic state, until you experience a new way of being you had no awareness of existing in a different way because that’s all your have ever known.

  6. It’s where the magic happens (and who doesn’t want magic happening in their life right?)

Oh yeh baby magic can certainly happen in many ways. When you meditate not only can you experience things you can’t explain such as noises, smells, feelings of euphoria and a variety of sensations but you also notice things changing in your outer life too. This is because where you choose to focus your attention will be mirrored internally/externally. If you choose to moan and be negative then this will be reflected in your internal world. If you go inward (meditation/reflection) you will bring about calmness and this will have a knock on affect in your outer world.

  7. Understanding why we are here.

I’m not going to go into this one fully here as this is not the blog for big existential explanations however when you meditate you can become aware of and get a sense for why we are here and that is to evolve . When I say evolve, in so far as, I mean evolve spiritually and to awaken to who you truly are. Meditation opens your perspective wide and all manner of possibilities become possible. Being open to new concepts and ideas becomes very possible with meditation

  8. Self-compassion……..yes that’s right compassion for self.

I’m really big on this one. Being kind to yourself has to be number one on your list of values. People like to use the word “selfish,” often, and when you have been accused of being selfish it can bring up feelings of guilt and there is absolutely no benefit in anyone ever feeling guilty. It is totally and utterly self destructive so why would you want to do that to yourself? I encourage others in the importance of putting yourself first and looking after number one. Not to the detriment of others but I see it as an act of self care and ultimately self love. My reasoning is that when your bucket is full you are then able to give to those around you. If you bucket is half empty and you keep giving, seriously where is that going to get you? Huh? Unfortunately it’s going to lead to exhaustion and illness. With meditation you become self aware. Aware of what is and what isn’t working for you. This one is the biggest lesson for mothers, as they are the biggest givers of all. You can still be there for your children but knowing how to filling up your bucket first then you bucket will over flow and you are able to give freely.

  9. If your in a bad mood and you just cant seem to shake it.

Well this is an excellent time to meditate because by the time you have finished your meditation you are in a completely different head space , it’s like magic . Meditation creates a sense of peace and calmness that wasn’t there previously and your mind and any negative self talk has vanished to be replaced by zenness. Magic

My Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: Qest4 Bioresonance machine

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is a condition that I understand well

Unfortunately I suffered with CFS for nearly twenty years. It is debilitating and does not allow you to live the life that you want to lead. Somebody once described it to me as “you feel like your legs are made of concrete,” and I would agree that this best describes the extent of the debility that you feel. My fatigue journey started after I came down with glandular fever at the age of fifteen. I was never quite right after that. I felt lethargic and not my usual energetic, fidgety self. During my twenties, I managed to work in quite a physical, on your feet type of full-time job. I believe I managed it purely out of sheer determination. However, by the end of the day I was exhausted. I would be sitting at home staring into space, barely able to cook myself any dinner; it was pretty horrible. As a teenager, I had a Sunday job working in catering and everyone would go out after work. I found that if I got home and sat down, I wouldn’t be able to get up again: it was like being glued to the chair. So I would get home, get changed and go straight out and then at least I could be glued to a chair in a social setting and I was managing some sort of resemblance of a social life.

“Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), is a complicated illness characterised by at least six months of extreme fatigue that is not relieved by rest, and a group of additional symptoms that are constant for at least six months. In many people with chronic fatigue syndrome, the disorder begins suddenly, often following a flu-like infection or an episode of physical or psychological trauma. In other cases, chronic fatigue syndrome develops gradually. The illness lasts for many months or years, and only a small percentage of people recover full health.”

I have a huge amount of sympathy and compassion for anyone suffering with impaired energy levels. What I have observed are common themes in the way that people who suffer with CFS think and feel. I have often observed high levels of stress and struggles with life in general.

Where does it all start?

People who suffer with fatigue frequently push themselves too hard and become drained by their commitments and aren’t listening to their body and its needs. I am a firm believer that the way we think can severely affect our physical health. Negative thoughts about ourselves or others have an adverse effect on different parts of the body depending on the emotion we are experiencing. In Chinese medicine it is well known that anger resides in the liver. Having some awareness around our thought processes and their effect and having that inner knowing that we are in charge of them, it’s not the other way round. For the over thinkers out there it often doesn’t seem that way. Being kind and caring to ourselves is an act of self-love and how we treat ourselves is a reflection of how we treat those around us.

2 men sleeping on a table

In my twenties I started to see a Homeopath. However, I’m never sure I talked about my tiredness as I thought everyone felt like I did. I just didn’t know any different. I believe that when you have never had good health it’s hard to know and understand what feeling healthy is like. It wasn’t until the birth of my second child that I began to think there was something quite wrong with me. During the first year of my daughter’s life I would come down with a cold and I would have a day or two of respite and then boom, another cold. It was during this time that I had decided to study homeopathy as I had been pretty blown away with it in my twenties. I had come to that crossroad after having children and decided that it wasn’t feasible to do what I had previously done as a job. Eventually, over time my fatigue faded away because I saw a homeopath regularly and received consistent care.

This is all history now and today I enjoy and experience a much more robust immune system and I can honestly say I rarely get sick and my energy levels are the best they have ever been. This has much to do with homeopathic medicine and also having the awareness about my own thought processes and being the kindest person I can be, to me.

What is Bioresonance Therapy?

What I have found is that by adding the Qest4 bioresonance (formally known as Asyra) machine to my practice this has resulted in a quicker response time in my client’s energy levels. The Qest4 is a bioenergetic health screening system which has a multitude of tests that will literally ask the body questions and through a biofeedback system the body will answer the questions fired at it. It can be compared to a high-speed kinesiology session. The Qest4 machine calculates the information the body gives and then collates a comprehensive list of what the body requires to balance it at that time.  Because I feel passionately about chronic fatigue syndrome, I have built a specific chronic fatigue test on the Qest4 bio-resonance machine. Once the Qest4 has finished all the tests it is then able to make up a bottle of energetic medicine which is client-specific. I am finding that because the medicine is finely tuned to the body’s requirements, in so far as, the Qest4 machine has calculated the exact potency of each energy within the medicine which the body readily accepts.

If you have had glandular fever and are suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, fibromyalgia or low energy levels then I would highly recommend a Qest4 bioresonance screening.
